Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Your trust means everything to us. As your accountant, we look after some of your most personal information, and we take that responsibility seriously. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, and how we keep it safe.
Anjie Accounting Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 79 651 564 126) is a registered tax agent (registration number 26113416). We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we keep client information confidential as required by the Tax Practitioners Board Code of Professional Conduct.
What we collect
Depending on how we work together, we may collect:
Your name, address, phone number and email
Date of birth and identification documents
Tax file number (TFN) and Australian Business Number (ABN)
Financial information, such as income, expenses, bank statements, assets, payroll and superannuation details
Business information, such as your accounting records and ATO correspondence
Details of family members or employees where this is needed for your tax or payroll work
Information you give us through our website forms, bookings, emails and calls
How we collect it
We usually collect information directly from you. With your permission, we may also collect it from the ATO, ASIC, your bank or software feeds, your previous accountant, or other advisers you work with.
Tax file numbers
We only collect and use your TFN for lawful tax and superannuation purposes. We handle TFNs in line with the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015, and you are not legally required to give us your TFN, although not providing it may affect our ability to lodge on your behalf.
Identity checks and anti-money laundering
For some services, such as setting up companies or trusts, the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 requires us to verify your identity before we begin and keep records of those checks. In some circumstances we may also be required to report certain matters to AUSTRAC, and the law may not allow us to tell you when we do.
Why we use it
We use your information to:
Provide our services, including tax returns, BAS, bookkeeping, payroll, advisory and ATO lodgements
Meet our legal and professional obligations, including those under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009
Communicate with you, including reminders, updates and responses to your enquiries
Manage our practice, including billing and record keeping
Send you helpful newsletters or updates, if you have agreed. You can unsubscribe at any time
Who we share it with
We only share your information when it’s needed to help you, when you’ve agreed, or when the law requires it. This may include:
The ATO, ASIC, the Tax Practitioners Board and other government agencies
Your bank, super fund or other financial institutions, when acting for you
Other advisers you ask us to work with, such as your lawyer or financial planner
Trusted software providers that help us run our practice securely, including Xero, Content Snare, Karbon, Microsoft 365 and HighLevel
We never sell your personal information.
Storing information overseas
Some of our software providers may store data on servers outside Australia, such as in the United States or other countries. We choose reputable providers with strong security and privacy protections.
Keeping your information safe
We protect your information with secure, password-protected systems, multi-factor authentication where available, secure client portals for sharing documents, and restricted access within our practice. We keep records for as long as the law and professional standards require, then securely destroy or de-identify them.
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will act quickly to contain it and notify you, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, where required by law.
Our website and cookies
Our website and booking tools may use cookies, small files stored on your device, to make forms, bookings and the site work properly. You can block cookies in your browser settings, although some features may not work as well.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. Just email us and we’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. In rare cases the law may allow us to decline a request, and if so, we’ll explain why.
